Offerings
Continuing the tradition established from the Buddha’s time, the undertake alms round/ Pindapatta each morning in the neighbouring village of Rampur Gainda. The kind and generous villagers support them amply with food each day, in addition to heart-warming invitations for chai 🙂

>> Food: Due to the perishable nature of food items and limited kitchen storage at the monastery, it is prudent to have a fresh supply of food items in manageable quantities. In order to honour the wish of donors wanting to offer food, we have an arrangement for fresh supplies at the monastery. Those wishing to offer food may consider donating toward the monthly food expenses. The monastery steward can buy fresh produce and other essentials from nearby towns on your behalf. The monastery spends approximately Rs. 35,000 a month on various food related expenses.

>> Donation of items: You are welcome to make an in-kind donation when you visit the monastery or remotely. For remote donations, kindly send an email to aranyasangharama@gmail.com.
>> Pavarana: The monastic rules allow for a “Pavarana”, where a lay supporter has the opportunity to offer sponsorship to the Sangha related to a specific item or service (like the cost of travel or medical needs). Such an offer may be made explicitly by the lay supporter, preferably with clear limits, such as a monetary limit or a time frame for which the pavarna will be applicable (eg. “May the Sangha accept my Pavarana for one month for medical needs upto INR xxxxx”). This arrangement then enables the Sangha to express the need freely to such a lay supporter directly. Any such pavaranas may be conveyed to aranyasangharama@gmail.com
