Join the Bhikkhu Saṅgha LIVE from Arañña Saṅghārāma as we observe Pavāraṇā Day, marking the conclusion of Vassa, the annual rains retreat.

what is Pavāraṇā

Pavāraṇā means “inviting admonition”. On this day, bhikkhus invite one another to point out any faults or shortcomings they may have seen, heard or suspected during Vassa. It is an occasion for confession, reconciliation and inner cleansing, helping the Saṅgha live in harmony.

The Saṅgha of Arañña Saṅghārāma will observe this occasion in the traditional manner followed in Ajahn Chah monasteries. The resident Saṅgha will share their experiences of Vassa, followed by an opportunity for lay community members attending at the monastery and joining online to share their own experiences.

 schedule will be as follows :
7:00 pm Short opening chanting and reading from the  Vinaya Pitaka on the evolution and importance of Pavarana.
7:30 pm Pavarana recitation by the monks
7:45pm Sharing by the monks about their Vassa experiences
8:30 pm Invitation to lay community to share their Vassa experiences
