DESCRIPTION:\nAranya Sangharama’s first Kathina will be observed in the presence of respected Luang Por Liem, Ajahn Kevali and other Sangha members. \nEach year, after the three-month rains retreat (Vassa), the Buddhist community celebrates Kathina, a tradition of generosity and gratitude. During Vassa, monks and nuns stay in one place, dedicating themselves to meditation, study, and spiritual practice. At the end of this period, lay supporters gather to offer robes and other requisites to the Sangha.\n\nOrigin of Kathina\n“Kathina” originally referred to a wooden frame for sewing robes. Today, it symbolizes the special offering made to the monastic community—gifts like cloth, food, and medicines, given from the heart.\nCultivating Merit\nKathina is a rare annual opportunity to reflect on the kindness of the monastics who preserve the Buddha’s teachings and for laypeople to join in giving, fostering generosity and merit.\n\n\n\n Friday–Monday, 10–13 October 2025\n\n Registration:  Registrations are now closed for planning purposes, however, you are very welcome to visit/stay on your own and participate in the ceremony. We will be happy to answer any questions you might have. \n\nThe following schedule is for the registered participants. Non-registered participants may refer to it to plan their travel and stay.\n\n\n\nSchedule: \n\n\nFri Oct 10th – Delhi toYamunanagar:\n\nDepart from Dhammarama at 2.00 pm in a bus\nEvening tea on the way at 5.00 pm\nArrive and check-in at a hotel in Yamunanagar\n\n \nSat Oct 11th  – Monastery tour & Dhamma session program:\n\n\nBreakfast in hotel in Yamunanagar at 7.00 am\n\nDepart for Arañya Sangharāma at 9.00 am\nPindapata/ Meals offering at 11.00 am\nTour of the monastery land at 1.00 pm\nEvening tea at 5.00 pm\nSpecial evening programme with Dhamma talk by one of the senior Ajahns at 7.00 pm\nNight stay at a hotel in Yamunanagar\n\n \nSun Oct 12th –  Kathina program:\n\nBreakfast in hotel in Yamunanagar at 7.00 am\nDepart for Arañya Sangharāma at 8.00 am\nKathina offering ceremony begins at 9.00 am\nMeals offering at Arañya Sangharāma at 11.00 am\nAfternoon session – quiz at 2.00 pm\nEvening tea at 4.30 pm\nSanghakamma, aditthana, Dhamma talk by senior Ajahn at 6.00 pm\nNight stay at a hotel in Yamunanagar\n\n\nMon Oct 13th –  Arañya Sangharama/ Yamunanagar to Delhi program:\n\nCheck out and breakfast in hotel in Yamunanagar at 7.00 am\nDepart for Delhi at 8.00 am with packed lunch on the way\nReach Dhammarama, Delhi between 1.00 to 2.00 pm\n\n\nPlease note: \n— There is limited accommodation available at Arañya Sangharāma, therefore, the guests will be required to stay in a hotel in Yamunanagar.\n— The participants are requested to bear their own expenses of boarding and stay.\n–Those who wish to make offerings/ donation in relation to this important occasion may see details here: Offerings and Donation\n\nWe look forward to your presence on this special occasion. \n
